YOUR FAVOURITE TV AND FILM CHARACTERS & THEIR NAIL LOOKS
Curating this list into just a Top 10 was EXTREMELY difficult! Seeing as we have so many amazing characters to choose from! In today's blog, we explore the creativity and style of our favorite females from films and TV, from the bold and daring to the chic and sophisticated. Whether it’s the striking nail art of an apocalypse survivor or the elegant nails of a disney princess, we’ll explore how these nail designs reflect their personalities and stories 💌
Our Top 10 Faves 🤍
Elle Woods
Elle Woods! Our fave girl in pink from one of the most girl boss movies ever - Legally Blonde (2001). From preppy to professional, throughout the movie her style evolves, all whilst keeping her passion for pink alive, symbolising her femininity and vibrant personality! In the movie, Elle was able to break stereotypes that were very prominent in the early 2000's, proving you can be both stylish and smart. We definitley think Elle would go for the almond nail shape, cutesy and classy. Of course with a vibrant pink nail design to match her amazing outfits. 🎀
Jenna Rink
Jenna Rink, from another noughties classic - 13 Going on 30 (2004). A film that captures the nostalgia of being a teenager, care free and fun! Perfectly embodied by the cute pastel nail colours all mix and matched.. Gorgeous! Who can choose just one colour nowadays? Let's go for multiple! Jenna's look would be short and square nails, keeping it practical for all the fun activities she may get up to as the 13 year old suddenly in a 30 year old body 💅
Wednesday Addams
Wednesday! A supernatural and mystical TV Show from 2022, spun from The Addams Family movies. Wednesday's aesthetic screams vintage gothic, with black and white being pretty much all that exists for her colour palette and we love it! She would rock the long claw like nail shapes, with either stiletto or almond resembelling her bold personality in the show. This nail design is dark and dramatic, with shadowy and smoky vibes embodying the vibes of Jericho town (where the show is set) 🖤
Cher Horowitz
Ugh as if! Cher from Clueless (1995) everyone! Now, she may be one of the most iconic female characters to date, setting popular fashion trends from the offset. Cher went through a lot of character development throughout, making us learn to love her even more, from a naive teen to showing more of her kind-hearted nature. All whilst maintining the most aesthetically pleasing looks. You can also see from the film she is a french tip nail art girl through and through! Chic, elegant yet simple, a perfect set to go with her many different outfits 🤍
Tiana
Tiana from Princess and the Frog (2009)! One of my favourite Disney Princesses, with some of the prettiest green aesthetics. During the movie, Tiana shows us that it's okay to put your dreams first and doesn't follow the stereotypical storyline of the Prince being the end goal. She broke away from traditional gender norms and we love & praise her for it! If you've watched the film, you'll know her dress in the last scene was beautiful - we can invision Tiana with light green nails and delicate flowers as nail art to represent her gracefulness. A touch of pearls to match her necklace too. Definitley a look to recreate 💚
Emily Cooper
Emily in Paris, an on-going series on Netflix which first came out in 2020 and had a recent season 4 launch earlier in August. A show known for it's fashion, style and creativity. Emily in particular is known for her colourful wardrobe, but the most iconic piece is her red beret. For this look we reckon she would opt for a deep red gel shade with almond shaped nails, perfect for all the typing she will be doing at her marketing job! Alongside this, adding the white ribbons for that adorable touch because of course, she is in Paris after all 🎀
Phoebe Buffay
Pheebs! A well loved character from Friends 1994-2004. She is someone that is unapologetically herself! Her love for vintage-boho fashion is very evident throughout the show, inventive hairstyles, long skirts, bold jewellery and accetric accessories.. she is an icon no doubt! With her quirky personality, care-free lifestyle and her love for earthy neutral tones, this nail art look was made for her. Short and natural, she wouldn't want to take too much away from all her chunky rings! The mix of green, browns and oranges perfectly match her vibe 🍃
Rapunzel
Rapunzel from Tangled (2010). One of my personal favourite Disney films. This film embodies the fairy tale aesthetic; a cute tiny village, lushious forests, a tall cobbled castle and the prettiest purple dress. Of course not forgetting the token animal friend, Pascal. The floating lanterns in Tangled are a key element of the film, symbolising Rapunzel's deepest dreams and wishes. The lanterns are also undeniably beautiful and visually stunning. When thinking about Rapunzels nail art look, we know she would match her nails to be the same colour as her dress, paired with some gems and gold star accents to resemble her connection to the lanterns. The perfect design for the princess! 💜
Michonne
Michonne from The Walking Dead! She might not be the most well known if you aren't the biggest fan of Zombies.. However in my opinion she is very iconic and a courageous female character. Now this is set during an apocolypse, so I highly doubt Michonne will be thinking about where the nearest nail salon is, but lets pretend for the sake of this blog! She is a strong minded character, who often wears very pratical clothes but is always looking stylish - she can showcase a great mix of both. Her nail art look would be fierce and functional, with a very natural earthy colour to stay out of sight when needed to during TWD.. 🧟♂️🧟♀️
Aquamarine
Aqua from Aquamarine (2006) a comedy meets fantasy meets teen romance film! Aqua is the most iconic mermaid in movies (sorry Ariel!!), with her well recognised blue strands in her blonde hair, which definitley created a well loved hair trend in the late 2000's. Her bubbly personality and compassionate nature, makes her a well appreciated character within this feel good nostalgic film! The mermaid nail look has been a massive thing this summer and I deffo think she would choose to rock this nail design, mixing blue shimmers resembelling the ocean and 3D effect seashells with mini pearls 🌊
