Wondering whether you should shake or stir your gel polish? Or how to achieve the perfect coverage without overloading your brush? We've got you covered with our top application tips!

Why does highly pigmented gel polish separate?
Have you ever opened a bottle of gel polish and noticed the colour looks slightly separated?
Don't worry! This is completely normal, particularly with highly pigmented formulas like Halo Super Rich.
Gel polish contains solid pigment particles suspended within the formula.
When a bottle has been sitting unused for a while, these particles can naturally settle, causing some separation. The good news?
This doesn't automatically mean there's anything wrong with your gel polish. It may simply need a good mix to redistribute the pigment evenly throughout the formula.
Should you shake or stir Halo Super Rich?
It's a common question amongst nail techs, and we're here to clear things up!
When it comes to Halo Super Rich, both shaking and stirring are perfectly acceptable.
However, for the best results, we recommend giving your gel polish a good stir before application. This is particularly important if your bottle hasn't been used for a while or you've noticed some pigment separation.Stirring helps redistribute the pigment evenly throughout the rich, creamy formula, ensuring a smoother and more consistent application.
So, can you shake it? Yes! Can you stir it? Absolutely! But for Super Rich, stirring is our top recommendation.
Our top tips for applying Halo Super Rich
1. Less is more!
With such a highly pigmented formula, there's no need to overload your brush.
Apply Super Rich in thin, smooth and even layers, allowing the creamy consistency to do the work. Using too much product won't improve your coverage, so keep your application light and controlled.

2. Avoid overworking the product
Try not to brush over the same area too many times during application.
Instead, use gentle, controlled brush strokes to distribute the product evenly across the nail.

3. Don't forget to cap the free edge
It's an important step that's easy to overlook!
Make sure the free edge is fully covered and capped before curing to achieve a neat, professional finish.

4. Keep the product off the skin
Precision is key when working with highly pigmented gel polish.
Take care around the cuticle and sidewalls and always wipe away any product that comes into contact with the skin before curing.

5. Cure each layer for 60 seconds
Always cure each layer of Halo Super Rich for the full 60 seconds in your Halo lamp.
Even when the colour looks beautifully opaque, following the correct curing time is essential for proper application.

Perfect your Super Rich application💅
Getting to know a new formula takes a little practice, but a few simple adjustments can make all the difference.
Remember to stir your colour before use, keep your layers thin and apply with a light, controlled technique.
